Financial Assurance Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, professional financial institution, whose mission is to serve the financial/banking needs of our members at fair and competitive rates.

Financial Assurance was first formed as the Equitable Credit Union in 1915. It is the 10th oldest credit union in the United States.

For one thing, Credit Unions do not have customers, we have MEMBERS. Members join the Credit Union and become owners (shareholders). Furthermore, you, our member-owners, set the policies and direction for your Credit Union by electing a Board of Directors from among yourselves.

The Annual Shareholders Meeting is your chance to participate in the affairs of the Credit Union by voting for the people you want to chart its course in the years ahead. The Annual Meeting is also a forum within which you can make your voice heard. It's your opportunity to tell the Board of Directors and the management what we're doing right and what we could do better.

At the heart of any Credit Union is the concept of a common bond that unites its' members. This common bond may consist of sharing a common employer, association, or community. What ever its particular form, a Credit Union's common bond means that all it's members share certain interests and needs. Thus, a Credit Union is uniquely able to match its services to the needs and interests of those it serves. No other financial institution has a common bond requirement, no other structure so directly ties the needs of its' customers to its' mission.

We're not here to make a profit, satisfy distant investors, or make risky investments. This enables us to offer you low-cost loans, a competitive return on your savings, and true quality, personal and friendly service.
